*This position reports to: *Site Leader *This position has direct reports: *None *Location:* Tyler, TX *FLSA Hourly/Salary: *Hourly *Essential Functions:* * Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
* Perform daily part inspections (PPAPs) to ensure compliance with product requirements.
* Contact suppliers as needed for part certifications.
* Work closely with Quality Team Leader, Site Leader, and engineers to make approval decisions and complete required testing.
* Utilize quality lab tools and gauges to inspect parts.
* Assist in maintaining Field’s calibration system.
* Support Quality Engineers with non-conforming product.
* Support the implementation of new business including parts review and creation.
* Work closely with the Receiving Team on Quality-related questions and support to make required decisions.
* Assist with monitoring and dispositioning inventory on Approval, REC-Hold, and QC Hold.
* Support in training new hires rotating through the Quality lab to develop their understanding of how each functional area relates to one another.
* Respond to inquiries and requests for information from internal Field team members.
* Collaborate between various functional areas to ensure proper communication with suppliers, customers, and Field team.
* Assist Quality team with annual projects and continuous improvement activities.
*Education, Skills and Experience Required:* * High School diploma or GED equivalent * Polite and professional manner.
* Possess an understanding of fastener industry specifications.
* Gauge control knowledge.
* Experience with Blue Print Reading.
* Self-motivated, organized, detail oriented.
* Able to solve problems independently.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Ability to take charge of an inspection laboratory environment.
* Ability to work with interruptions and then able to re-engage the former project.
* Ability to work with limited direct supervision.
* Willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
* A desire to be a positive contributor in a team-based environment.
* Willing and able to learn new concepts and procedures in a short period of time.
*Additional Skills Preferred:* * ISO9001:2008 and/or ISO9001:2015 understanding.
* Experience in the inspection of fasteners is strongly desired with this position.
* Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) understanding.
* Post-high school education and/or technical training.
