POSITION SUMMARY:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating motorized forklift equipment and performing manual tasks in a food manufacturing environment.
The Forklift Operator must ensure all quality, physical safety and food safety standards are adhered to and must follow all Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) while performing their duties.
This position is also responsible for the cleaning/sanitation of their work area and must complete preventative maintenance tasks in the facility.
This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate motorized forklift and perform manual tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work areas and perform other housekeeping/sanitation tasks as assigned
• Perform required preventive maintenance and minor repairs
• Perform all required inventory transactions for material usage tracking and process tracking, on paper and electronically
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Preventive Actions, Quality Policy, Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Safety policies
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1+ years or experience operating a forklift required; experience working in a non-climatized food and beverage manufacturing plant preferred
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Good mathematical aptitudes
• Ability to work overtime and to be flexible with schedule worked hours
• Good attendance, punctuality and self-driven
• Beginner experience with Microsoft office suite
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot, humid, noisy and dusty
• Able to stand or sit for prolonged hours, lift 50 lbs.
and climb stairs
• Flexibility on working 2nd or 3rd shift
• Must reside in Palestine, Texas area
