Description
Job Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating projects, activities, reports and deliverables associated with CPRIT grant projects.
Responsibilities include 1) planning, coordinating, and developing projects and activities related to the grants.
2) Assisting with contract deliverables, 3) coordinating, handling, action items and meeting notes related to meetings, and 4) assisting with educational conferences, including session development and speaker invitations.
This position reports directly to
the Principal Investigator and works closely with other key faculty and staff.
Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
• Provides project management oversight and leadership on quality improvement and other departmental projects of varying size.
• Creates, monitors and executes project plans.
Tracking all aspects of initiatives, including milestones, risks, issues, lessons learned, communications, project resources and spend.
Makes modifications to plans and schedules as necessary to ensure the successful delivery of scope within time and budget constraints.
• Works closely with subject matter experts, committee members, workgroup leads, workgroup members, and the funding agency to drive project planning, execution, decision making and problem resolution.
Ensures there is effective collaboration and communication with key partners in the implementation of initiatives.
• Collects, produces & uploads regular project status reports and documentation.
• Schedules and attends required project meetings to ensure projects stay on track, risks are identified and managed, issues are tracked to resolution and appropriately escalated, and any changes are documented and analyzed for impact.
• Captures meeting minutes and tracks action items, following up with attendees as required.
• Assists other staff with contract deliverables and governance.
• Assists with tracking budget and expenditures.
Identifies and coordinates with other program staff on expenditure needs and available funds associated with projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• Demonstrated knowledge working with deadlines and under pressure and the subsequent ability to prioritize tasks.
• Works on several projects with overlapping deadlines.
• Project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Extensive experience with the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro software.
• Ability to use Microsoft tools for project management and information display is preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer on a full-time basis.
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required Education / Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree is required.
Graduate or Professional Degree is preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in managing projects required.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills required.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Project management training preferred.
• Health related experience preferred.
