Job Summary:
The Physician Compensation and Contract Manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining all areas of Faculty Physician contracting, including, but not limited to Memoranda of Appointments and Professional Services Agreements.
The position is responsible for overseeing the compensation components and ensuring fair market value for all contracts.
The position works closely with University and UT Health East Texas leadership to provide comprehensive contracting services.
The position works in collaboration with the Compensation Manager in Human Resources.
Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
• Drafts and produces compensation term sheets for physicians and APPS in collaboration with leadership.
• Generates all supporting documentation needed for Clinical Faculty Memoranda of Appointments (MOAs) to include financial reporting, P&Ls and benchmarking based on MGMA National Standards.
• Works in collaboration with recruitment, contracting and University counsel on contract requests to include proofreading language prior to final execution of MOAs and Professional Services Agreements (PSA).
• Coordinates and oversees new and annual faculty appointment process including offer letters, memoranda of appointment and MSRDP agreements;
• Works in collaboration with Compensation Manager in Human Resources to support effective processing.
• Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
• Drafts routine documents for review by University legal counsel.
· Participates in faculty physician onboarding calls to provide updates on contracting process.
· Uploads and maintains all faculty physician contracting documents through Meditract and Contraxx.
· Develops policies, processes, strategies and goals to support the department.
· Manage valuation and fair market value (“fmv”) process for new faculty recruits as well as acquisitions.
· Coordinates with all UTHET medical staffs to ensure credentialing and privileging documents are complete;
• Manages contracts after execution to ensure contractor performance compliance;
• Consults with the institution's Office of Legal Affairs regarding legal questions that arise with respect to contracts;
• Facilitates establishment of a billing plan for revenue-generating contracts to include outlining data sources and requirements, identifying responsible parties, and generating invoices;
• Assists executive leadership, department leadership, and others in verifying the accuracy of invoices and processing payments consistent with contract terms;
• Prepares, as necessary, transparent and accurate reporting of contracting activities to internal customers;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education / Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
• Five (5) years’ experience in clerical, legal or contract management preferred.
