The Cafe Manager is responsible for performing a variety of duties within a Cafe/food establishment which may include completing customer transactions, cleaning the foods or stock areas, assisting in the Cafe, maintaining inventory, completing orders, maintaining spreadsheets, and performing all other responsibilities as directed by management.
Essential Job Functions:
Directs and oversees general upkeep and custodial duties in all Cafe areas; assures proper cleaning techniques with Health Department guidelines are utilized; develops and maintains records for Health Department in regards to food safety procedures.
Creates work schedules and tasks for Cafe Staff.
Assists with job training, staff meetings, compliance with established policies and procedures, and supports positive staff relationships with all departments.
Plans a cost effective Cafe menu, ensuring the stand operates efficiently and provides quality foods and services; listens to customer requests for new products or alternatives to include in the Cafe and makes the facility run effectively.
Completes appropriate food, alcohol, and merchandise orders; performs inventory on a regular basis on products and merchandise; receives orders and ensures they are properly stored according to Health Department standards; properly plans for busy seasons and special events; processes invoices in a timely manner; adheres to the departments’ budgets regarding revenue and expenditures.
Perform other related duties as required.
Educations/Certificates/Licenses/Training:
High School Diploma/ GED required
Associate’s Degree Preferred
Experience/Background/Knowledge/Skills:
Customer Service or food and beverage experience required.
Ability to foster a positive, cooperative work environment, and to analyze and solve problems.
Effectively present information, and respond to questions from employees and customers.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical activity including pushing, pulling and lifting medium to heavy weights.
Ability to work in positions that require long periods of standing, stooping, crouching and bending.
Schedule Requirements:
Flexible work schedule.
Weekends required.
