Job Summary
GPO Chemical-Environmental/Training Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of Vistra Power Generating Stations.
The position may require some travel in the support of other Vistra Power Generating Stations.
Job Description
Environmental
Plan, manage, and coordinate environmental activities to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
Manage the site’s environmental duties, including contracted labor and equipment, to ensure environmental compliance.
Ensure activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner and conform to required specifications, including meeting water discharge effluent limitations and treatment costs.
Implement and enforce safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and increase employee safety awareness.
Manage environmental databases to include air, water, groundwater, soil and solid waste to meet permit and regulatory reporting and data retrieval requirements.
Company representative for on-site inspections by federal and state environmental personnel (100+ days per year).
Primary representative for corporate Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
Training Coordinator
Responsible for scheduling Computer Based and Instructor Led Training for Stryker Creek and Trinidad Power Plants.
Responsible for the professional development of personnel including tracking and submitting progress reports to management.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred or High School Diploma/GED with prior supervisory experience.
Experience in chemical and/or environmental.
Training experience preferred.
Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to some of the skills listed.
