About the group/team
The APS Academy was established in July 2021 and is designed to support the broader APS learning ecosystem as a whole in building capability for all APS employees.
The Academy plays an important role in setting overall shared direction for capability development and developing enablers and supporting platforms to support a genuine One-APS approach to capability building and driving efficiencies.
The Academy operates a networked model, allowing us to use our strong partnerships to connect us to existing expertise and domains of excellence across the APS.
Collaboration is the foundation of the APS Academy’s networked model and is a critical element to the Academy’s ongoing success.
The key functions of the Learning System Services team are to:
Partner with learning practitioners from across the APS to source, and scale digital learning solutions to support the capability development of the APS.
This includes using whole of APS technology platforms such as Learning Bank and working towards a one-APS solution for learning and development procurement and a learning experiences platform.
Provide services and support to APS Academy platforms for capability development including the Learning Management System and APS Academy website.
The team aims to deliver best practice ICT/digital solutions that extend and enhance the Academy’s efficiency and effectiveness in delivering high quality services to the APS.
About the role
The Director, Learning System Services leads a team driven to transform and support the APS learning and development ecosystem through technology solutions.
This role is responsible for delivering priority technology projects and provides high quality customer support for the efficient and effective operations of the APSLearn Learning Management System (LMS).
The Director, Learning System Services will have high-level leadership capability for leading and managing the operations of a team of people and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Duties include:
Consolidate work of the Learning Bank pilot into business as usual (through supporting integration of selected content from across the APS onto APSLearn LMS).
Support and facilitate a whole-of-APS L&D procurement solution, with initial focus on panel arrangements.
Contribute and support development and testing of the whole-of-APS Learning Experience Platform with a view to implementation in the APS Academy – with approach to market for interim LMS provider ahead of LXP implementation.
Manage APS Academy capability/course offering content including upload, revisions etc for LMS.
Provide helpdesk/troubleshooting support to customers.
Manage current relationship with LMS provider.
Manage APS Academy website enhancements.
Utilise agile approaches to workflow.
