Christian Homes & Family Services *Position Description* *Job Title* Field Officer Director Department: Social Services Exempt: No Supervisor: Regional Director Location: Tyler *Summary* In pursuit of its vision of a Christian home for every child and its mission of changing lives and building Christian families, the Field Office Director is responsible for the implementation of the ministry’s foster care, development and marketing plans in the East Texas region.
Working with the resources allocated in the ministry’s annual work plan and budget, and with the direction of the President/CEO, the Director will plan, manage and direct the efforts of the East Texas foster care team, and will coordinate with other supervisors and directors to implement the ministry’s development and marketing efforts.
In most instances, the Director will be the spokesperson for Christian Homes & Family Services in East Texas.
The Director will be a member of the ministry’s leadership team.
*Religious and Moral Requirements* Must be an active, faithful member of a Christian church whose life and conduct is such that the applicant receives a favorable recommendation from the leadership of the church he/she attends.
All employees must acknowledge the Statement of Sincerely Held Beliefs adopted by the ministry’s Board of Trustees.
*Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements* · Recruit foster applicants · Respond to foster parent applicants · Interview and document foster applicants · Review foster parent applications and forms for accuracy · Coordinate screening/approval of foster applicants · Develop and monitor training plan for prospective foster families · Counsel foster parents regarding legal rights, powers, duties, and privileges and the foster process, including a review of the legal documents · Prepare foster applicants for home studies · Complete foster parent home studies · Finalize foster care verification according Minimum Standards Requirements · Maintenance of licensing and contract standards · Enter data into social services database (SAM) · Monitor services for compliance with agency policy and state/contract standards · Coordinate with the Director of Marketing and Special Events, to plan, organize and execute fund raising events in East Texas including the scheduling, solicitation, staffing, volunteer coordination, print and PR on the events necessary to meet or exceed the ministry’s budget goals.
· Research, identify and solicit support from donors including individuals, churches, businesses, and foundations necessary to meet or exceed the ministry’s budget goals.
· Research and identify new donor prospects.
· Maintain contact and build relationships with major donors.
· Schedule and deliver the annual appreciation gift to top donors.
· Identify estate planning prospects and with the President develop an individualized follow-up plan.
· Inform and acquaint president with donors and their plans.
· Prepare written documentation on donor contact and record in the online donor database.
· Submit information for the ministry’s various communication methods including social media and publications.
· Solicit in-kind support which reduces out-of-pocket agency expenses.
· Organize and conduct work efficiently and within the means of the donor-supported agency.
· Accept and complete other development-related tasks as assigned by the President.
*Responsibility to Ministry as a Member of the Professional Staff* · Communicate regularly with the President& CEO · Coordinate tasks with other Leadership team members · Participate in staff meetings, trainings and retreats.
· Work to develop and maintain productive relationships with area child welfare departments and other referral sources · Make a personal effort to keep up-to-date in the field of social work through a process of self-education, including professional reading and involvement in training programs made available through the community · Attend and take advantage of all in-service training, staff meetings, and staffings as planned by the agency · Attend workshops and conferences planned by the agency to improve casework skills and delivery of services · Participate in placement committee meetings and prepare pertinent information for presentation upon request · After suitable training, participate in the on-call, after-hours rotation.
· Assist in preparing public relations information and giving presentations when requested · Maintain constant awareness of public relations and Christian responsibilities for self and Agency Perform in whatever capacity requested the supervisor for the overall good of the Agency when such requests are normally considered to be within the bounds of the position description.
*Qualifications and Requirements* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work required.
The Director will sit for the Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator test as soon as qualified and will be expected to secure the LCPAA designation within the first 18 months of employment.
· Ability to read and analyze financial reports, legal documents, and professional journals.
· Oral and written communication skills to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community · Ability to write social histories and record client contacts that meet social work practice standards · Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards.
Grammatical skills must be of the highest quality · Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and written regulations and implement their application.
· Ability to deal with and understand multiple abstract variables.
