Plans direct and implements Agency Safety Program and Loss Prevention to ensure safe, healthy and accident-free work environment for employees and customers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Forklift and pallet jack training.
Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in worksite safety practices, fire prevention and correct handling techniques for donations, equipment, including forklift and pallet jack training and any chemicals/hazardous materials.
Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in areas including, but not limited to, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Harassment/Bullying and CPR/First Aid.
Administers a safety committee made up of employees from all divisions, as well as the Accessibility Committee of the Agency.
Conducts monthly safety meetings and ensures information from the safety meeting is dispersed to all employees at the store/non-exempt employee level.
Conducts and oversees inspections of stores, donation sites, worksites and work stations to determine if safe working practices are being employed and to determine if proper job design, tools, equipment and practices are in place, including the necessity of PPE (personal proactive equipment).
Conducts personal inspection of all Agency facilities to detect any existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Oversees compliance documents necessary for GII and CARF certifications and accreditation.
Consults with appropriate management on specifications of new structures and/or modification of existing structures for compliance with existing safety codes, laws and the ADA.
Determine if additional safety items, tools, procedures or equipment are needed within a structure or operation and recommend acquisition if required.
Leads the investigation of work-related accidents, injuries, illnesses, near-misses or bodily fluid spills and ensures proper and timely submission of appropriate accident/incident reports.
Also, cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.
Provides information, signs, posters, barriers and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
Also, provides all other necessary safety signage.
Maintains safety files and records, including also OSHA forms.
Leads and coordinates diversity, equity and inclusion efforts including the Inclusion Cooperative DEI Team.
Loss Prevention duties including supervisory responsibilities with Loss Prevention staff.
