This position is under the direction of the Principal Investigator/Project Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualifications; highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS, or other design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript; ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills; excellent content creation and writing skills.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: manage the Teaching STEM online website and Center; day-by-day administration of the Center including management of all content, access to content, and adherence to federal, state and local governments laws and regulations; overall management of Subject Area Specialists and others who provide content; work closely with the Teaching STEM Center Coordinator for Assessment and Training Coordinator in choosing assessment tools and processes and schedule training.
The Center Director will work with the Outreach Coordinator to ensure the use of accurate outreach materials; schedule and attend regular status meetings with the Teaching STEM Center Coordinator for Assessment and Training Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator and others to discuss progress and/or any issues that need to be rectified.
The Director will plan and populate the Teaching STEM website; implement, manage, regularly monitor, and upgrade the website; troubleshoot all website issues and work to eliminate any such issues; ensure that the website is protected by appropriate security measures; respond to any identified security breaches; update HTML, CSS and JavaScript and other codes regularly.
Content audits will be conducted regularly to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
The Director will create appropriate website content aligned with the goals of the Teaching STEM website; ensure that data-related collection parts of the website are operational at all times; ensure overall website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans; regularly improve the user experience of the website based on commentary by users; ensure full compliance on the website with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations; and stay current and up-to-date with industry best practices.
