Job Purpose:
Performs payroll function and maintains employee files and administers employee benefit programs.
Essential job Duties and Responsibilities: Payroll Function: Completes all aspects of payroll for the facility; enter associates into the payroll system before the end of the pay period; Enter all employees into the timeclock system.
Prepare and submit payroll at the end of each pay period; obtain written authorization for all missed punches; distribute paychecks.
Assist employees who have issues with paycheck.
HR/Personnel Function: Maintain all employee’s personnel folders, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Prepare and maintain all required auditing of said files.
Maintain all required records of what insurances an employee has.
Assist in associate benefit administration record keeping.
Must thoroughly understand and be able to explain to employees all benefits they have available to them.
Oversee recruitment of potential employees and finalize hiring of prospective staff members.
perform all required background checks on new employees to determine their eligibility for hire.
Ensure completion of necessary personnel record forms as required by Company policy and local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Oversee recordkeeping so that all personnel records are accurate and complete, and manage the flow of up-to-date personnel information between departments as needed.
Compliance Function: Ensure ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the department meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement best practices in all departmental activities.
Participate in surveys conduction by authorized inspections agencies.
Staff Development Function: Conduct, attend and participate in orientation, training, in-service education activities and staff meetings.
Documentation: Maintain and safeguard all required federal and state documentation required.
Other Job Functions: Resident Rights Function: Understand, comply with and promote all rules regarding residents’ rights; promote positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulators and associates, to include presenting a professional appearance and attitude.
Meeting and Committee Function: Participate in all meetings and committees as requested.
Other Duties: Other duties as assigned Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical device): Works in a climate-controlled and well-lighted environment.

Works in an office and throughout the building daily.
Has Category 1 risk of exposure to infectious diseases, but receives training in handwashing practices and Universal Precautions and has access to personal protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated.
Is subject to interruptions, noise, and odors daily Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to communicate with residents and employees, ability to understand and follow training, ability to instruct staff in service education, and the ability to remain calm under stress.
Qualifications: Completion of high school education and able to follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families, and government regulators, and to work cooperatively with other associates.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment and be able to type at least 45 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator.
Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
